With the state of the world economy in 2021, there has never been a more interesting time to learn about economics. The real world is what economics is about, how nations trade, why nations trade and why do nations compete in the international arena. A level Economics investigates how firms compete, how countries compete and looks at why some industries are more profitable than others. It asks questions of our economy and looks at how money is made and where it is spent. Students are encouraged to develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand and analyse data, think critically about issues and make informed decisions. Skills that can be taken into higher education or the world of work. Many people go onto work in banking, insurance, accounting or law. Lessons are taught in a variety of ways and students are encouraged to work individually and with others to develop an analytical and evaluative style that helps them to think critically about issues, and from it make informed decisions. Students will build upon their quantitative skills and appreciate that, when evaluating arguments, both qualitative and quantitative evidence are important.
